Raymond J. Kaiser Memorial Plaza The Trustees and Faculty of the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine dedicated the Raymond J. Kaiser Memorial Plaza on February 26, 2006 followed by reception. RAYMOND J. KAISER Raymond J. Kaiser became a member of the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine’s Board of Trustees in 1995 and served as Treasurer until his death in February of 2002. In announcing the establishment of the Raymond J. Kaiser Memorial Plaza, Dr. Max Harry Weil, president and founder of the international non profit education and research institute, said “The unselfish dedication of Ray was one of the prime reasons that our expansion and move to our beautiful new building in Rancho Mirage became possible. It is fitting that the entrance to our Center be dedicated to and named after Kaiser who was so devoted to our cause and did so much to help make others aware of our life saving efforts in research and education around the world.” In addition to Ray Kaiser’s tireless work in behalf of the Institute of Critical Care Medicine, he served as Director of the Palm Springs Boys Club, Director and President of Pathfinder Ranch, Trustee for Eisenhower Medical Center, helped start the College of the Desert Foundation and served as Chairman of the COD President’s Club, COD Foundation Director, President of the Advisory Board, and founder of COD’s Golf Institute. He joined the McCallum Theatre Board of Directors in 1988 and was Chairman of the Board in 1997 and 1998. He was also a director of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Board, co-chair of the Bob Hope Classic Ball, and Director of Bob Hope Desert Charities that awards funds to Desert Charities from the proceeds of the annual Classic golf tournament. “Ray gave of himself so completely and selflessly to non-profit causes in the Coachella Valley, and we were especially privileged to have had his devotion to this Institute as a leader on our Board of Trustees,” Dr. Weil said, adding: “We hope that his good deeds will live on in the hearts of all who pass through the Raymond Kaiser Memorial Plaza.”
